Lazar's Early Music was founded in 1994 when Bill Lazar left his career in molecular biology to pursue his passion for early music. Bill started by selling Mollenhauer recorders out of his house and grew the company into a resourse for early music musicians of all levels, from beginners to professionals. When Bill retired, he sold the business to Martin and Emily Shelton, who carry that torch into the future with commitment and eagerness to serve the early music community.
As a small, family-run business, they are grateful for each of their customers and are committed to providing personalized service to meet each player’s unique needs. Choosing an instrument can and should be a very personal choice, an extension of the musician themselves. The Sheltons hope to assist every player on their musical journey – whether they are selecting their first instrument or finding one to age alongside.
