In a major effort to increase arts accessibility, the San Francisco Early Music Society (SFEMS)—the Festival’s parent organization—implemented a “pay-what-you-can” ticket model for its 2023–24 concert season as well as the 2024 Festival, becoming by far the largest classical arts organization in the Bay Area to adopt such an approach to ticket pricing.
We're taking a bold leap to fill our halls for our beloved concerts with our new "pay-what-you-can" ticketing model. With record-breaking crowds showing up for our 2023–24 main stage season, we are hoping that this trend will continue for BFX 2024! If you have friends and family members for whom you know this will a game-changer in having them come to Festival concerts, please let them know.
However, to make this sustainable, we need your help! Subscribe to a package of Festival concerts to ensure that we can “pay-it-forward” and ensure a robust future for this new ticketing model.
Four-, six-, and eight-concert subscription packages are available. You can either purchase at standard subscription (each concert is $45), or a premium “pay-it-forward” subscription (each concert is $67.50). Both packages signal your support in helping us become everyone's portal to early music in the Bay Area.
Either package represents a discount from our 2022 regular ticket prices, which ranged from $55–$85.
And if you’re feeling bold, take the Willie Wonka approach and buy one of our golden tickets—an all-access pass to our main stage events for $1,000! (Note that this pass excludes iSing’s pre-Festival performance in San Jose on 6/8.)
Help us invest in creating a sustainable ecosystem for early music by bring in people curious to hear what “early music” is all about. It’s an investment in building a future where the past and the present can meet and enrich each other—where early music can be enjoyed, here and now, by anyone.
