KontraBande (a deliberate play on words which utilizes the French words for countertenor and small ensemble, “Kontra” tenor/La Petite “Bande”) joins the forces of its founder, English countertenor Charles Humphries, now residing in the USA; East Coast baroque star soprano Rebecca Kellerman Petretta; and instrumentalists from San Diego and the Bay Area. Following recent performances in Washington, D.C. and San Diego, it is with excitement that we come to the Berkeley Fringe. With single instrumentation creating a more intimate feel, we certainly believe in our slogan: “Small forces, Big results”.
